After retiring from a thirty year career as a schoolteacher, Jerry Nowak began to offer educational motor coach tours to area students and teachers. His new hobby grew quickly into a full-time business, and in 1993 he founded Nowak Tour & Travel. We met recently with Jerry and his son Brian, and listened as they offered this overview of the services Nowak Tour & Travel offers;
Nowak Tour & Travel is a full service travel agency specializing in group tours and travel packages for schools, clubs, church groups, and senior citizen's group. We offer motor coach tours to many popular destinations, including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, and New York City. We arrange customized travel packages to Disney World, Las Vegas, or anywhere in the world our clients want to go.
Nowak Tour & Travel is a family-owned and operated company. We have eight full time employees, all having family ties, in addition to thirty-two additional staff members during the busy season. Every tour, whether it's a day tour or an extended one, is accompanied by one of our representatives who stays with the tour from departure to return. On all of our adult motor coach trips, we provide snacks, games, and show movies so our clients can relax and enjoy the entire trip.
We strive to provide all-inclusive tour packages including all meals and attractions thus minimizing any "out of pocket" expenses once the trip begins. Indoor corridors at above average properties and private night time security are always high priorities. We have a very friendly staff and as a family, we have a lot of fun together. People told us that working together as a family would never work out, but we're closer now than we've ever been. All of the personnel go through a thorough training period with us and we all learn from one another. Our tour managers must pass in-depth background checks, and receive special training in dealing with students and children. Last year our entire staff traveled to Washington, D.C., one of our most popular destinations, and then each of them prepared a presentation explaining the many memorials and the monuments.
Nowak Tour & Travel started as a hobby, but has been rapidly growing each year. As a co-owner, my son Brian is assuming more responsibility for the day to day operations of the company, and we're looking forward to handling the traveling needs of our loyal customers for many years to come.
