Tom Stefanakos, a lifelong sports enthusiast, grew up in the restaurant/tavern industry and had always wanted to operate his own business. With combined pair of interests, it only seems natural that Tom and his wife Juva opened their Scorchers franchise in 1999 on the same day the new Cleveland Browns won their first football game. We visited with Tom and General Manager Tiffany Patrick recently, and listened as they described the excellent food, beverages, and entertainment waiting for you at Scorchers;
Scorchers is a casual eatery and draft house catering to all ages, including singles, couples, and families with children. We have a complete menu, daily specials, thirty-one beers on tap, live entertainment, games, and twenty-two televisions that enable our patrons to keep up with the latest sporting events. We pride ourselves on the friendliness of our staff, the cleanliness of our kitchen, and the fact that our food is prepared as if it were being served to our own family.
We serve steaks, shrimp, chicken, BBQ pork, and a wide range of sandwiches, including hamburgers, steakburgers, reubens, French dips, hot dogs, chicken pitas, and gyros. All of our portions are large. Our hamburgers weigh half a pound, our hot dogs are a third of a pound, and our onion rings are huge. We have the biggest wings around and feature sixteen different home-made dipping sauces. We make our fried mushrooms from fresh mushrooms, hand-dipped in batter, and fried to a tantalizing goodness. Our unique dessert line-up includes deep-fried cheesecake and brownies.
We have various specials throughout the week, including a $3.95 lunch special Monday through Friday. During all Cleveland baseball and football games we serve hot dogs for only fifty cents, fifty cent tacos on Thursdays, and on Mondays and Tuesdays we have twenty-five cent wing day for groups of ten or more, dine-in only. We serve $1.50 drafts during Happy Hour, and for Super Happy Hour we have special drink prices on Jaegermeister, Jack Daniels, and similar drinks. We have thirty-one beers on tap, including everything from domestic drafts to Killian's, and we have frequent specials on both domestic drafts and bottles.
We have a dance floor, karaoke on Tuesday nights, DJs on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, live bands most weekends, and a digital satellite juke box that provides every song you could possibly want. We have twenty-two televisions, two forty-inch HD plasma TVs, and a giant projection TV. During football season you can come in and watch any football game being played anywhere throughout the country. We have WWE live pay-per-view, the National Trivia Network, and Texas Hold-Em on TV where you can play Texas Hold-Em while challenging other people at the bar. We have dart leagues and tournaments, a bowling game, two pool tables, dart boards, and a foozeball game. Many local sports teams hold their fundraisers at Scorchers, and we help them out by supplying the food and drinks for their events.
