Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Edward J. Aubé, P.T., O.C.S. and Maria M. Nolan, P.T. with clinics in Cleveland and Brecksville. Due to their remarkable growth, the Brecksville clinic was moved to a larger facility in Broadview Heights in 1998. The following year, Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. added a clinic in Lakewood, Ohio and another in North Olmsted, Ohio to provide service throughout Western and central Cuyahoga County. Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. provides physical therapy services for a wide range of orthopedic conditions. We treat those who have been injured at work, in automobile accidents, or while participating in sports activities. We offer post-operative treatment for those recovering from surgeries such as knee or hip replacement, rotator cuff surgery, and knee reconstruction, in addition to treating those having pain in the temporomandibular joint. We have a women's health program specializing in treating women with lower back pain and incontinence following their pregnancies.
The first specialty of our Broadview Heights clinic is aquatic therapy. Using the same type of equipment employed by the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, we use water to speed and maximize recovery while enabling our patients to gain motion at a quick pace with less discomfort. We've designed the pool for ease of access for everyone, whether they can walk, are on crutches, or in a wheelchair. The water temperature is maintained at a temperature which allows for both comfort and a vigorous workout. Exercising with the natural buoyancy of water enables a faster healing process and a quicker return to life's normal activities.
Our second specialty is offering Workers' Compensation Services. We not only treat people after they've been injured, but we also go to their work site to gradually ease them back into their jobs through light duty or transitional work programs. We perform Ergonomic Job Studies for employers to determine the physical requirements of various jobs, and to make recommendations on how the job can be made safer and more productive.
Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. has been very instrumental getting Ohio to pass the Direct Access laws that enable people to see a Physical Therapist without a doctor's prescription. Patients can see us as their first stop in seeking treatment for physical aches and pains and we treat them just as we would if they had a doctor's referral. If we find a condition that requires the attention of a specialist, we help our patients find an appropriate physician or other specialist for treatment. We can usually see people the same day or the day after they make an appointment. Many times after treating patients, they find they can either manage their problem on their own or we've been able to help them in just a few visits. Many insurance companies now recognize the benefit of Direct Access and will pay for physical therapy even if you don't have a physician's referral.
Our patients are very impressed with the personalized care they receive at Rehab Professionals of Cleveland, Inc. Unlike larger hospitals or national chains, we strive to have our patients see the same therapist on each visit. Most of our therapists have at least ten years of experience in addition to an area of specialization. I'm an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (O.C.S) and Wendy E. Burns, P.T., is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S). Maria M. Nolan, P.T. is a Certified Transitional Work Developer and Anthony DiFilippo, P.T. is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.). Stephanie M. Pritts, P.T. is well known in Northeast Ohio for women's health problems such as incontinence and pelvic pain.
